Based on Frap's efforts, suggestions of others and my own hackery, this is the latest forum restyler.

Latest Installation Instructions

Chrome Users - Install Stylish for Chrome

Firefox Users - Install Stylish for Firefox

Then wherever the Image icon appears click it and choose "Find styles for this site" you should see Football 365 Forum Restyler offered, install that and Bob's your father's brother (Luke)

:toppa: - Figured it out myself, with Opera it seems you have to take the JS route as it simply wouldn't pick up the CSS. I'm currently on OSX but can try the CSS method on Windows next time I boot up.

Right. So the Opera way:

- Visit: http://userstyles.org/styles/44807/football-365-forum-restyler ;
- In the dropdown, have Opera selected [not sure if this makes a difference];
- Hit the 'install as user js' link [it points to this if you want to access it directly --> http://userstyles.org/styles/js/44807/Football%20365%20Forum%20Restyler.js;
- From within the browser window, you're now looking at the JS contents as per the link above;
- Still from within your browser window/tab: File --> Save As... and save that JS file to wherever you wish, i.e. 'My Documents';
- Now, when looking at any forum.f365.com page, right click and select Edit Site Preferences;
- Got to the Scripting tab;
- At the bottom you will have the option to select a folder path for 'User Javascript Folder';
- Paste/find the same location you downloaded/saved the JS file, i.e. 'My Documents'.
- Hit OK and confirm your selection, hit OK until you are out of the 'Edit Site Preferences' menu box;
- Refresh any forum page:
- :o

If you want to play around with the style script have a look at this add-on BrumSpur recommended me on the last page; its seriously handy for figuring out what is what!

I'll tell you how I worked this out easily, there's an addon for adblock that adds a thing which highlights styled elements if you install that and press ctrl + shift + s, you can highlight the elements and find out the style names by hovering over them.

Images aren't working for me but does this version have bolded thread titles? I would rather keep my own version if so.

It has options for bold titles or not, and different fonts, you do have to uninstall/reinstall to see them though.

ok, cool. Will I just need to press "Update" in Stylish for the current script or do I need to install fresh?

you need to uninstall from Stylish, then reinstall, use the webpage or you don't get the options.

Some post history access/posting links help might be good for the noobs (and the hordes of stupid forummers that we already have who don't know how to do either of those things)

When you view your own posts it used to take you straight to your post within a thread. Now it goes to page 1 (not the most helpful when my post is buried in page 12 somewhere). Or am I one of the horde? :blush:

Click View Your Posts to see all of the threads that you've posted in. It allows you to see all threads that you've posted in and also directly navigate to any new posts in that thread if you click the orange arrow to the left of threads.

As you can see, those are the most recently active threads that I have posted in. Some of those have orange arrows because I haven't read the latest messages.

Now if you want to directly view your own posts, you click on the Image button below a post of yours to get to this page;

Spoiler: show

When on your profile, click the "Search user's post" link. This will take you to this page;

From here, you can navigate to the thread you've posted in and also your post in that thread.
1: Takes you to the thread
2: Takes you to the post.

Clear?

ok, found it

Had to amend to this:

Code:
.topicauthor { font-size: 1.1em ! important;}
.topicdetails { font-size: 1.1em ! important;}

as I didn't like how small the font was for topic detail and author.

To post links, use either of the options highlighted in this image;

Spoiler: show

Untick the parse URLs box and the link will work
Leave it ticked, the link won't work.
If you untick the box and then preview the post, the box automatically gets reticked.

URL tags >>> Parsing URLs.
Parsed URLs open in the same tab.
URL tagged URLs open in a new tab.

[/does the work for Brum]

Brumspur, first of excellent work on the script! I've edited it myself but there's a few things I can't figure out, I'm using chrome and the text in the panel at the top with "Board index >> Football Forum" is tiny. Do you know what element name this is? I've exhausted all my knowledge!

Actually, just noticed the same problem with the text in the "Post subject: Re: Forum Style Changer" panel.

I can't find either of these elements so your help would be much appreciated

Actually, nevermind. I've found the chrome equivalent of the adblock plus that lets you find out which element it is you want to edit

Adblock +

Just right click anywhere and select "Inspect element" at the bottom of the list

Yo, great effort, but just one thing: I selected non-bold titles from the installer page, but they are still appearing as bold. Had a go at editting the code but doesn't seem to make any difference...

It is (I've been using 4 all along, but the S doesn't show on this one the x64 version, but does at work on the 32bit)

Apparently it's a common problem, go via addon manager

Hi Brum, Apologies if I'm suffering from false memory syndrome, but did a previous version of this thread have details of changes you could make to remove things like the confirmation page when you submitted a reply?

If I haven't made this up, could we have the details reposted in here, please?

There was something like that (as part of a greasemonkey script) but it didn't work well IIRC.

The old thread still exists

BrumSpur, just a quick heads up - I have a new lappy and tried to reinstall the restyler for Opera but the link in the OP doesn't seem to provide the JS file. So had to recover the saved file from my backup to install this.

Love how the forum looks and feels with the restyler in place. :thumbup:
