I have quite a large monitor, and because of such the forum appears a vertical strip in the middle of the screen. Can someone assist me in tweaking whatever needs tweaking to make it fill the screen? :toppa:

Yup.

I think it's a big deal that you don't get icons for threads you've posted in.

Would anyone like to test this for me? It seems to work ok for me, but I could do with another coupld of people checking before I add it into the master? If you are happy to, go to line 278 on your code, where is says GET THE BELLS BACK, and inside the closing bit where it says /**** END OF BELLS BACK ****/ - paste this code

Code: Select all

     ul.topiclist .row .topic_unread_hot_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist .row .topic_read_hot_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist .row .topic_unread_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist .row .topic_read_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest,  ul.topiclist.topics .sticky_read_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest,  ul.topiclist.topics .sticky_unread_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist.topics .topic_read_locked_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist.topics .topic_unread_locked_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist.cplist .sticky_read_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist.cplist .sticky_unread_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest {

         background-image: url("http://s29.postimg.org/8wx3de4g3/bell_mine.png");
    }

Seems to be working well for me :o

Edit: Actually just noticed, but if there are no unread posts in a thread the bell icon completely disappears and therefore so does the dot telling you you've posted in the thread. Any way round that?

On the old forum did it not still display the bell icon of there were no unread posts, but it wasn't coloured in? If that makes sense...

Yeah, thats the awkward bit for me as they add in an extra link when there are unread posts (if you turn off all styles and look at a thread with no new unread posts, you will see its a blue lightbuld you cant click)

Where as when there are unread posts, you can click on tehe lightbuld (you can click on my bell too and it takes you to the unread posts)

There is not an "easy" way around that tbh, as I cant target something that isnt there

Its the best I can do at the minute, I'll take a look and see how they have done it and if I can just duplicate that

You'll need to update using stylish. Click on the Stylish icon in your top bar, click "find all styles for this site"

When you are there, click on the top version, then click "update with stylish"

Be sure if you've made any custom changes to copy these out ready to past back into the new version once you have updated.

In the newest version there is an area for "personal styles" so people know what to copy out before updating. Paste all of your custom styles between those areas :toppa:

Yo nerds, I've asked the new hosts to consider using an updated version of the old forum style that I've modified and sent them. Would look like this:

http://i.imgur.com/kPLaszR.png
http://i.imgur.com/kbuaTTn.png

Pretty much same as it used to, with the bookmarks button back and the non-awful colour scheme etc. Sure it won't please everyone but hey ho.

Would be good to have the edit/quote buttons etc.. back at the bottom of posts amongst other things.

Apologies if this has been asked but whilst I like the new forum look, a lot of images don't load when I am viewing threads on iPad. I just get a little box with the word 'image' inside it. Anyone got any ideas how I can fix this?

About 3 posts below, you would have seen the code :lol:

If you want to add the black dots in, add this code in your code area. Ive added it toward the very bottom, but within the last /**** END OF BELLS BACK ****/ bit.

Code: Select all

     ul.topiclist .row .topic_unread_hot_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist .row .topic_read_hot_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist .row .topic_unread_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist .row .topic_read_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest,  ul.topiclist.topics .sticky_read_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest,  ul.topiclist.topics .sticky_unread_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist.topics .topic_read_locked_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist.topics .topic_unread_locked_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist.cplist .sticky_read_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest, ul.topiclist.cplist .sticky_unread_mine .imageset.icon_topic_newest {

Move your face closer to the screen.

If the font appears too big, move your face back a little.
