For the minimalists, I'd suggest trying this code. I've just kept most of Triggers code and toned down the colours.

Code: Select all

    html, body {
        background-color: #fff;

Are the little extra snippets of code you've posted in the pages of this thread already in the OP code I've installed, or do I have to add them somewhere?

Right, all updates have been pushed to the master style as of right now. Its easy enough to comment out if you want to, let me know if you do...

Anything else that people are thinking to get this sorted. I am going to dedicate until 12 today before I actually crack on and do some work :thumbup:

Remember, if youve made custom changes copy them out before you update. Thou shalt not be held responsible :o

Great job Triggs :adore:

Can finally look at this forum at work without it looking like I'm grooming some kids forum.

Only minor thing I can think of to make it look even better is a slight border/line between the profile on the left and the post so they don't blend into each other.

Sorry for sounding stupid, what notifications are you talking about in the 'with' or 'without' options?

There is normally a "notifications" item here, if you use the script "with notifications" It adds the "view your posts" part with that still there, if you install it "without notifications" it removes it, like i have below

I don't understand it too well, but in the upper right section of the forum you'll see 'notifications'

I think, think, whenever anybody quotes a post you've made you get a notification.

Seaside's code basically gives people the opposrtunity to bring back 'View Your Posts' and 'Bookmarks' and keep notiications, or get rid of it.

EDIT: What Trigger said ^

Trig - one thing that was pissing me off was having the report button right next to the quote button.

Added this code to the Stylish script to hide it:

Code: Select all

a.button.icon-button.report-icon { display: none; }

Any ideas what we can do to differentiate between a thread we've posted in? I can put something before the Thread title? Change background colours?

Possibly a lighter grey for threads we've posted in.

I dunno if you could get lighter that what you're currently using though?

put an erect penis icon next to the title?

I tend to have my browser open in a small window when using the forum. Now when i'm reading a thread I don't get the new look applied unless I have the window open full.

In a small window:

Any way it could be fixed to look like the second screenshot when I've got it in a small browser window?

Actually the same thing with the bookmarks page - the menu and friends list appear at the top rather than the side when in a smaller window.

Oogy, if you add this code, it will help set it up like you want. I've stopped at 700px as below that it would start to look a bit weird.

Code: Select all

@media screen and (min-width: 700px) and (max-width: 1176px) {
.postbody {
  width: 80% !important;
}
}

I find that just saving 'View your posts' as a bookmark and having it in my bookmarks bar actually works best now, it saves you having to scroll up if you're at the bottom of a thread, for example.

In your code, remove the bit that says

Code: Select all

    .postbody h3 {
        display: none !important;
    }

That will make it come back, to make it look a lot better, replace the above with this instead

Code: Select all

    .postbody h3 {
        font-size: 1.1em;
        margin-bottom: 4px;

Where are you seeing that icon? Thought i'd got all of the pesky things :lol: :mad:

With the username but you pointed out, I cant do anything about that in terms of turning one off or something, but can add a space between them?

Code: Select all

ul.topiclist.topics .responsive-hide a {
