Glad you are liking the changes. I've made a few more changes to try and bring it as in line with the old site. Here are this mornings screenshots.

They include...smaller thread titles, pagination like the old place and a complete rework of the CSS so if people want to change something themselves they know where to look as i'e commented the areas in. Let me know if you all think these should go into the actual style for people to update to!

It's still obvious its a forum, but taking that away would make it look a a lot less so :ninja:

That's what Triggers last bit of code does, couple of posts above. :thumbup:

This:

Trigger wrote:You can add this code in, as i've said before, make sure that you make note of these changes but making your own "section" at the bottom of the style area, that way, if I update the master style and you update too, you should copy your custom changes out first and then paste them back in after you've updated the master style.

Otherwise you'll lose your custom changes.

Code: Select all

.forumbg {
  background-color: #eeeeee;
  background-image: none;
}

ul.topiclist .header dt, ul.topiclist .header dd {
  color: #313131 !important;
}

Any way of getting rid or changing the stupid big red icons next to every thread? :uhoh:

You can, but this also gets rid of all of the "hot" and other icons? If you want to use it, i've left the sticky icon bulbs there. I can add another bit to remove those if you want. Basically, the code selects anything that is not a sticky and removes the padding to the left quite a bit too.

Let me know if you want to change it :toppa:

Code: Select all

    ul.topiclist .row .topic_read, ul.topiclist .row .topic_unread, ul.topiclist .row .topic_unread_hot, ul.topiclist .row .topic_unread_hot_mine, ul.topiclist .row .topic_read_hot_mine, ul.topiclist .row .topic_unread_mine {

     ul.topiclist.topics dt {

If you could modify it to get rid of all the icons that'd be nice. I did try to work it out myself but I'm too thick :(

Sorry trigger, is there any way to get the thread topic titles on the forum view less bold? I have tried but I have the look of that dog that has no idea what he's doing.

Chaps,

If you do want to remove all of the icons, including stickies (not announcements though), and sort out all of the padding, add in this code (remove what you added previously)

If this is to go into the master style, I will give it a few hours. If people dont want it in the global style I can tell you how to comment it out.

It looks a lot like the old forum with this tbf. Let me know what you think

Code: Select all

ul.topiclist .row .topic_read, ul.topiclist .row .topic_unread, ul.topiclist .row .topic_unread_hot, ul.topiclist .row .topic_unread_hot_mine, ul.topiclist .row .topic_read_hot_mine, ul.topiclist .row .topic_unread_mine, ul.topiclist.topics .sticky_read_mine, ul.topiclist.topics .sticky_unread, ul.topiclist.topics .sticky_unread_mine {
         background-image: none;
    }

     ul.topiclist.topics dt {
         background-image: none !important;
    }

     ul.topiclist.topics .row .list-inner {
         padding-left: 7px;
    }

     .announcement ul.topiclist.topics .list-inner {
        padding-left: 45px !important;
    }

A lot better! There are still a few icons showing on the bookmarks page - if we could lose them too that'd be ideal. :toppa:

You need to install GreaseMonkey rather than use Trigger's script. Once you've installed GreaseMonkey there's a link you can use to install it for you.

Quick thing - I added the GM script to get the 'View your posts/bookmarks' links on the top right.

But when I click the link there I get a list of one thread that I've posted in, when I use the standard method all my threads show up.

Has this been solved already?

Also - Trigger - I like the latest code to remove icons BUT it doesn't differentiate between threads you have posted in and threads you haven't.

That's a helpful thing to have.
